10 faces of fear you need to recognize when you run an online business
We all know what fear feels like. Rapid breathing. Racing heartbeat. Clenched jaws. Tight muscles. Sweaty palms. Foggy vision. Hoarse voice. The minute we experience this, our brain switches into the flight-or-fight mode. We’re trapped.
Living in constant fear fractures our freedom and creativity. It paralyzes us and crushes our dreams. Nobody wants to live in fear, yet many people have resigned to bland and barren lives that it grants us.
Consciously we want to choose courage, we want to avoid using the word “fear” in vain, as though saying it out loud evokes damnation.
So we create stories that cover up fears, make us feel safe, and lull us into thinking that we have overcome our fears without trying really hard, that we can move forward now.
The truth is, hidden fears do more damage than those we recognize. I didn’t realize how fears shattered my confidence when I began teaching online a few years ago, mostly because the fears I experienced wore different faces.
They spoke in euphemisms and wore enticing clothing. They deformed my dreams, covering them into layers of the impossible. They ruled my life, letting me achieve just enough to get by, then crippling me so I won’t move further.
